Indulge yourself with flavorful and nutritious food this year and bring fungi (back) into the mix. We are offering bulk orders of one pound or more for pickup at either Farmer’s Market the week before Thanksgiving.

Farmer’s Markets

Winter-Market season is here! Shorter days and cold temperatures mean adjusted hours and new locations.

Despite what you might know about traditional farming, winter time is one of the BEST time to grow mushrooms. We will continue to have a variety of mushrooms all year long. Plus, we have some exciting varieties coming very soon, think Golden Enoki and King Oysters (i.e. Royal Trumpets). πŸ„πŸ€—

If you pre-order mushrooms for Thanksgiving day, make sure you specify which market you plan to pick them up at. Your options are the HPFM on Sunday, November 24th or Northside on Wednesday, November 27th.

Recipe Time!

These recipes are amended from "β€˜Wild Mushrooms: A cookbook and foraging guide” or an existing online recipe that are linked accordingly. There are two appetizers, one main course, three sides and one cocktail recipe. If you wanted to make all seven recipes you’d need four pounds of mushrooms total and a tincture. Happy cooking!
 

Creamed Mushrooms on Toast

Is your Thanksgiving day giving classy, home-style and refined? You can set that tone with this scrumptious appetizer. *FYI, I added just a bit of shredded parmesan cheese to the mushroom topping right before placing on the toast, I highly recommend.
 

Mixed Mushroom PΓ’tΓ©

This one is for the cooks who want a challenge. Not only is this appetizer innovative and a crowd-pleaser, but it captures the fungi farming on many levels. Agar, used in this dish, is also the medium to grow out a mushroom culture to eventually make mushroom spawn. Agar is the first step of mushroom farming and the last step in the recipe, perhaps this dish is what completes the fungi full circle.

 

Mushroom Balls and Gravy

Two for one! Make a mushroom main course for any vegetarians at the dinner table and also craft a fine mushroom gravy to pour over everything on the plate.

 

Mushroom Stuffing

I will live and die by this recipe. It’s one of our favorite traditional Thanksgiving foods. And by β€˜our,’ I am everyone at Rich Life Farm.

Are you hungry, yet? Here’s a classic, GBC with real mushrooms! And the second most favorite traditional recipe at Rich Life Farm.

 

Mushroom and Mixed Greens Gratin

This recipe is a great way to add some greens to your plate. Also vegetarian. The farmer’s market is your one-stop-shop for this recipe.
 

Reishi and Spiced Pear Bourbon Cocktail

You didn’t think we would forget about the drinks, did you?! Try this new-to-us cocktail. If you aren’t a pear-person, you could elevate any alcoholic (or non) beverage with some mushrooms medicine. Just drop in a dose of our Reishi or Lion’s Mane tincture. It will add the slightest and most subtle bitter and earthy flavor to the drink. We also love adding them into a Hot Toddy or warmed Apple Cider.
